IBEW LOCAL 124 COVID-19 Update for Tuesday, March 24, 2020
Many job sites remain open while local governments recommend “self sheltering” for two weeks. Some members have inquired about continuing to work through the “self sheltering” order, our members in the construction industry are considered essential critical infrastructure workers. But remember that your safety is and always should be your number one priority!
Please contact a business representative if you have questions regarding the NERDA which was mailed last week or any other questions and concerns you may have.
The Center for Construction Research and Training
Recommends the following for the Construction Industry:
• Create at least 6 feet of space between workers by staging/staggering crews to prevent droplet spread.
• Plan for office staff to have the ability to work from home.
• Provide soap and running water on all jobsites for frequent handwashing. If that is impossible, provide hand sanitizer.
• Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces on job sites and in offices—such as hand rails, door knobs, and portable toilets—frequently, per CDC guidelines:
*Know the signs and symptoms for the COVID-19 virus; Fever, Cough, Shortness of breath.
